Sixth Edition of Livermore Valley Half Marathon to Take Place on March 3, 2019

May 30, 2018

Original race founder Mascot Sports is back at the helm for the 2019 Event

OAKLAND, Calif. (May 30, 2019) – The sixth edition of the Livermore Valley Half Marathon will take place on March 3, 2019. Mascot Sports, the original race founder and the team that won 2014 “Destination Partner of the Year” from Livermore Downtown Inc., is returning to lead the planning and organization of this iconic local event.

“Our team is thrilled to return to Livermore to produce the Half Marathon we founded with Livermore Downtown in 2014. It was such a magical day and we’re excited to bring that feeling and world class running experience back to Livermore Valley,” said Mascot Sports CEO Ryan Dawkins.

“One of the hallmarks of Livermore is its remarkable quality of life,” said Livermore Mayor John Marchand. “This signature event has participants coming back year after year. Come and find out why.”

The race start, finish and festival will take place in historic Downtown Livermore and the race route will bring runners through areas of the Livermore Valley, California’s oldest wine region.

“Your run will be a living postcard of all the beauty in our surrounding Valley,” said Livermore Downtown Inc. Executive Director Rachael Snedecor. “Starting in our award winning historic downtown, you’ll get a sense of California’s rich old west charm that has been revitalized with the coolest beer pubs, wine lounges, restaurants and shopping boutiques.  You will then run through our beautiful parks and vineyards where not only our residents will be cheering you on, but chances are you’ll see cows, goats, llamas and wild turkeys watching the action along the route!”

In addition to cheer stations, six water stops and pace teams, Livermore Valley Half participants can expect to bring home a unique medal, gender-specific technical tee, and a custom wine glass to enjoy tastes from local wineries and breweries as part of the popular Finish Festival.

“The Livermore Valley is definitely a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll and we look forward to celebrating your run finish at our Street Party with live entertainment and internationally recognized local wines and beers,” said Snedecor.

Registration is open for the 2019 edition of the Livermore Valley Half Marathon and is only $75 for a limited time. Participants who are up for more can register for the Oakland x Livermore 26.2 Challenge for just $150 until prices go up.
