Wildwood, NJ – DelMoSports has announced that Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spas has agreed to title sponsor the inaugural Women’s Philadelphia Triathlon. “This is the perfect fit for our brand,” said Todd Leff, President and CEO of Hand & Stone, “from the restorative powers of massage to our focus on women and empowerment, to our 2018 initiative designed to get our team of franchisees and their employees more active, we are thrilled that the 55 Philadelphia area spas have joined us and DelMoSports to partner on such a ground-breaking event.” Stephen Del Monte, Founder and CEO of DelMoSports said “We are very excited to have a great Philadelphia area company join us on the launch of this event. We are supremely confident that our partnership with Hand & Stone will deliver another first class DelMoSports experience for women throughout the Philadelphia region.”
As one of the only major market all women’s event featuring a pool swim, the Inaugural Hand and Stone Women’s Philadelphia Triathlon is unlike any other triathlon on the East Coast. The event is scheduled for July 8 and is a sprint triathlon that will feature a 400-meter swim in the historic John B. Kelly Outdoor Pool, a 9-mile bike ride on closed roads through the beautiful Shofuso Japanese Gardens, and a scenic 5K run through Fairmount Park.
The Hand & Stone Women’s Philadelphia Triathlon has already gained national recognition as one of the fastest growing all-women triathlons in the country in only its first year. Over 1,000 women have already registered for the event.
“By eliminating barriers – particularly the fear of open water swimming – events like this encourage women who may have reservations about participating in a traditional triathlon” says Del Monte. “DelMoSports is continually striving to introduce new people to the sport and we are so encouraged by the very strong response to our launch.”
The decision to be title sponsor of the Women’s PHL-TRI is particularly timely for Hand & Stone which is currently piloting a new Restorative Stretch service. The new service combines the restorative powers of stretch with the relaxation powers of massage. The result is improved flexibility and relief from nagging aches and pains. The company plans to roll out the new service nationwide in time for the July event. Additionally, DelMoSports and Hand & Stone will be rolling out some special pre-event programming and promotional opportunities to get the women of Philadelphia ready for the race.
