Altra Updates Provision 3.5 Dynamic Support Shoe

(Logan, UT — June 15, 2018) Altra’s Provision 3.5 underwent a stylish update with a revamped upper made of a more durable mesh and a sleeker overall profile. The asymmetrical design on the outsole with medial flaring and snugger midfoot fit make this shoe incredibly stable, perfect for weak or tired feet.

As part of Altra’s Dynamic Support category, the Provision 3.5 includes three technologies to guide any runner to a longer, stronger run:

  • The Altra GuideRailTM provides non-invasive support along the arch side of the foot to realign fatigued feet and collapsed arches.
  • A built-in Altra Varus angle on the medial side of the shoe raises the foot just 3 mm to realign feet and make them level
  • The Altra StabilipodTM acts as a supportive tripod by enhancing the foot’s three natural stability zones to help prevent excessive foot collapse and pronation.

The Provision features a 25 mm stack height with weights of 10.4 ounces for men and 8 ounces for women. Men’s color options are black/white, gray and dark blue, while color options for women are black/white, gray/raspberry and white/teal.

The Provision—along with Altra’s Torin, Instinct, Escalante, Paradigm, Lone Peak and Timp—has received the American Podiatric Medical Association seal of approval. This seal is only granted to products found to promote good foot health. Altra also has its own Medical Program to help doctors refer these APMA approved shoes to patients via local retailers. The Provision 3.5 retails for $120 and is available now at or at your local specialty running retailer.

About Altra

While working at a running store, Altra founder Golden Harper was frustrated that modern running shoe technology caused poor running form and had not decreased running injuries. His passion to create a shoe that followed the science produced Altra’s FootShape™ toe box and Zero Drop™ platform. Since its founding in 2011, Harper and co-founder Brian Beckstead have grown Altra from one to 25 shoe styles, winning multiple Editor’s Choice awards and distribution in more than 60 countries.
