Team of eight looks to beat last year’s 4th place finish in prestigious cycle race

CEO Challenges®, the world leader in sport competitions designed specifically for CEOs and business owners, is gearing up for Race Across America (RAAM) in hopes that they can beat their fourth place finish from last year’s race. The event, a cycle relay competition, leaves Oceanside, CA on June 15, and the CEO Challenges team hopes to be at the finish in a mere six days, arriving in Annapolis, MD on June 21.

“The Race Across America takes meticulous planning, an incredible crew of nine people that can anticipate what the riders need and, of course, eight really tough CEOs who leave their blood, sweat and tears on the course,” said Ted Kennedy, President of CEO Challenges. “Last year’s CEO Challenges team broke the record for an all-rookie crew and riders team, finishing the 3,000 mile race across the USA in just six days, five hours and 18 minutes. This year, we’re excited about the prospect of placing in the top three.”

The 2013 CEO Challenges eight-person RAAM team is comprised of the following CEO and C-level executives:

  • Joe Marinucci, CEO and co-founder of Digital Media Solutions, a full service digital media and advertising agency based in Tampa, Fla.
  • Alain Villeneuve, Partner at Vedder Price P.C of Chicago, Ill.
  • Jeff Kahler, CFO of Chuck Latham Associates, the premier agency in the pet industry, based in Parker, Colo.
  • David Lukrich, Principle of Angel Rush Ventures, San Francisco, Calif.
  • Scott Roix, CEO of Vici Marketing, Largo, Fla. and Principle of Angel Rush Ventures, San Francisco, Calif.
  • Matthew Stern, Partner at Angel Rush Ventures, San Francisco, Calif.
  • Robert Carroll, President of Lead ID LLC, Newport Beach, Calif.
  • Kyle Wood, COO of Edegree Advisors, Lehi, UT

“Being a part of the CEO Challenges Race Across America team was by far one of the most exciting and rewarding athletic events I participated in last year, “ said Joe Marinucci, CEO of Digital Media Solutions. “This year, I’m looking forward to participating with a new team and supportive crew to tackle the ultimate cycling endurance challenge head on and, of course, hope to beat last year’s record fourth place finish!”

Race Across America is a transcontinental bicycle race starting on the west coast and finishing on the east coast. The race covers 3,000 miles across the Rockies, the heartland of America, and finally the Appalachians. It continues to stand as one the toughest events in the world and a tribute to human endurance.

Spots on the CEO Challenges Race Across America team are sold out but CEO Challenges offers a variety of other events for business owners and C-level Executives including the CEO Endurance World Championship that will take place Sept. 6-9 at Blackberry Farm, Tenn.
