April 10, 2024

Schuchard Takes the Helm Alongside Newly Promoted Executive Managing Director, Marcus Grunewald

(DALLAS) April 10, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Board of Directors of the Dallas White Rock Marathon (DWRM), the parent organization of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival, have announced the promotion of long-time staff member, Jason Schuchard, from Senior Director, Marketing & Partnerships to President, reporting to Board Chairman, Dr. Logan Sherman.

“I am thrilled to accept the position of President and have the opportunity to continue making an impact on the Dallas-Fort Worth community through the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival,” said Schuchard. “This organization has been a part of my life ever since my mom ran her first Dallas Marathon in the 1980s and I am grateful for this full-circle moment.”

Since joining DWRM in 2015, Schuchard has successfully overseen and executed all marketing activities including registration, sponsorship, social media, public relations and community outreach. Alongside Executive Race Director, Marcus Grunewald, Schuchard achieved a record-breaking, sell-out weekend festival in 2023 with more than 30,000 runners and walkers of all ages participating in 12 events over three days. Prior to joining the DWRM, Schuchard was part of the Dallas Mavericks’ sponsorship activation team and the Dallas Cowboys’ sales and promotions group.

“Over the past nine years, Jason has been an exemplary member of the DWRM team, contributing to our achievements and demonstrating effective leadership qualities. His experience, both within our organization and his tenure with the Dallas Mavericks, has prepared him well for this role. We are confident Jason’s goals and dedication will successfully lead DWRM into the future, as we continue expanding our reach and impact in the health and fitness market,” said Sherman.

The Board is equally excited to announce the promotion of Grunewald to Executive Managing Director. He holds the distinction of being DWRM’s first employee and has more than 20 years of experience within the organization.

“Through his dedication, unwavering commitment to the community and pioneering spirit, Marcus has been instrumental in the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival’s growth and the organization’s support of Scottish Rite for Children,” added Sherman.

Race registration for the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival will open May 1, 2024. The 2024 race weekend takes place Friday, Dec. 13 through Sunday, Dec. 15, with events for all ages and abilities. After the 2023 events sold out weeks before the weekend festival, it is expected all events in 2024 will sell out.

“Planning for our 2024 event weekend is already in full swing and we can’t wait to host everyone in December – whether it’s their first 5K or 20th marathon,” said Schuchard. “We’re proud of what our event weekend and marathon experience has evolved into and invite all runners and walkers to come see what we’re all about.”

The BMW Dallas Marathon Festival is at a monumental time, coming off a record breaking, sellout year and recently being name one of the 20 best U.S. marathons in 2024 by MarathonPal.com.

Sherman added, “Under the oversight of Jason and Marcus, and because of our dedicated sponsors, vendors and city agencies, the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival is a true family affair in the heart of Dallas. We can’t wait to reveal our plans for the 2024 race weekend and welcome everyone at the start line.”
