Lottery Now Open for World-Renowned Leadville Trail 100 Run and Mountain Bike

All invited to enter for a chance at America’s highest 100-miler and epic “Race Across the Sky”

LEADVILLE, COLO., Dec. 5, 2018— Every year since 1983, endurance athletes from all over the world travel to Colorado to compete in the Leadville Race Series, produced by Life Time. America’s highest 100-miler is an extreme test of grit, guts and determination with the ultimate goal of completing the “race across the sky” and earning the coveted silver and gold race buckle.

Entrance into the 2019 Leadville Trail 100 MTB and 100 Run Lottery opened this weekend, Saturday, December 1 at 10 am MST and will remain open until Monday, December 31 at 11:59 P.M. MST. Winners will be notified by mid-January and automatically charged the registration fee. Unique amongst many ultra-races, Leadville and Life Time abide by “if you believe, we believe,” meaning you don’t need to pre-qualify in order to enter the lottery.

Those that are unsuccessful in the lottery process and still wish to participate will have the option to race one of the qualifier events to earn a spot, where race entries are distributed by age group as well as random lottery on-site. Additionally, the race series offers charity slots through a number of Official Charity Partners, including the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation, which was founded by race founders Ken Chlouber and Merilee Maupin to directly benefit the Leadville community. And new this year, the Life Time Foundation will be offering an all-access pass into all Leadville MTB events, Leadville For Lunches, with a donation to their charity to benefit youth lunch programs.

The series of Leadville’s legendary ultra-distance events, famed for their challenging courses and elevations through the Rocky Mountain terrain, has drawn competitors for 36 years who aspire to push themselves through the life-changing race that recently made headlines with Bobby Lea, a 3-time Olympic track cyclist who noted that the Olympics were “nothing compared to Leadville.”

Those that are drawn to the allure of competing in the iconic Leadville Race Series may now register for the entire list of events and training camps, including:
