Waitlist Opens for Historic 50th Anniversary Race in 2027

Following record-breaking demand, the 26.2-mile course—renowned for its iconic traverse across the city—has reached its maximum capacity months ahead of schedule.

While the full marathon is now closed to new entrants, organizers have officially opened the 2027 waitlist. Those who join the waitlist will be the first to receive priority access to registration for the 2027 San Francisco Marathon, which will mark the historic 50th Anniversary of the race.
