iFit Launches Live Outdoor Workouts and Real-Time Chat Between Members and Trainers

August 4, 2020

LOGAN, Utah — iFit, the leading interactive, connected fitness technology, offers Live Outdoor Workouts on iFit-enabled treadmills and ellipticals, such as NordicTrack and ProForm, as well as on the iFit app for tablets. The workouts are streamed live from magnificent outdoor locations, including beautiful cactus parks in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as red rock canyons in Southern Utah.

The iFit Live Outdoor Workout Difference

Live Outdoor Workouts with iFit trainers has never been done before. With the experience of filming and producing iFit Global Workouts in 43 countries, across all seven continents, iFit was perfectly equipped to pioneer this uncharted territory. Now, iFit members can head outside with their favorite iFit trainer to immerse themselves in beautiful, outdoor workouts right from home.

Like all iFit workouts, Live Outdoor Workouts seamlessly adjust the speed, incline and decline of iFit-enabled treadmills and ellipticals so that iFit members are in sync with the pace of their trainer and the actual terrain of the trail. For example, if a member is doing an iFit Live Outdoor Workout on a Wasatch Mountain State Park trail and the grade increases, they’ll feel their treadmill automatically move to match the incline. If the trainer picks up the pace, they’ll feel their treadmill automatically speed up.

“iFit Live Outdoor Workouts with automatic machine adjustments allow iFit members to focus all of their energy on the iFit workout, instead of continuously messing with the controls, “Mark Watterson, President of iFit said. “iFit members also increase their effort level and push harder as they participate in friendly competition against other members in real time.”

Members can join virtual waiting rooms before the Live Outdoor Workout begins, where they can text their iFit trainer questions and comments and have them answered during the workout. To access this feature, members simply scan the QR code using their smartphone’s camera, which will prompt them to text their trainer.

“There’s a sense of community I feel when shooting these workouts, knowing that iFit members are working out at home with me in that exact moment,” iFit Trainer John Peel said. “And being able to communicate in real time with the iFit members creates an even closer relationship than ever before.”

iFit Live Outdoor Workouts air every Saturday and are an addition to Live Studio Workouts, which are available every Monday and Tuesday. For specific times and iFit trainers, simply tap the “On Air” icon on the iFit dashboard to access the iFit Live schedule.

Live Outdoor Workouts are currently available to members and free-trial users with iFit-enabled treadmills, incline trainers and ellipticals, as well as tablets with the iFit app. The feature will also soon be available on smartphones.

iFit Live Trainers

The iFit Trainers launching the Live Outdoor Workouts include:

John Peel is a former NCAA Division I football player for the University of Utah. Upon graduating, he moved to California and transformed his passion for athletics into a personal training career. John designs his workouts to be very dynamic while maximizing time and energy. His training style is fun and fast-paced, and his workouts always include these three things: supersets, elevated heart rate and core work.

Jonnie Gale has had a passion for fitness and athletics since he was young. After playing nearly every sport up until high school, he went on to receive an athletic scholarship to Weber State University, where he ran track and field. After college, he continued his rigorous fitness regime, primarily focusing on weight and speed training. His training style is high intensity and always a party.

Ashley Paulson was raised in Utah County and has always loved long-distance running. Inspired by her dad, an avid marathon runner, she began joining him on his shorter runs at eight years old. Today, she is an AFAA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. As an Ironman athlete, she is a self-proclaimed cardio junkie and never turns down a good HIIT workout. Her training style is fun, energetic and fast-paced.

Matt Paulson grew up playing sports, but it wasn’t until adulthood that he discovered his love of fitness. He’s passionate about finding new ways to challenge himself, whether it’s lifting weights or participating in triathlons and other endurance sports. His focus is always on personal growth and finding new ways to help others step out of their comfort zone. His training philosophy is to focus on progress over perfection, while including variety in every training session.
