Rollout of Mobile Bike Shop business gaining momentum; Velofix seeks motivated entrepreneurs who want to make a great living doing what they love
(Vancouver, BC – September 10, 2015) Velofix, the largest fleet of Mobile Bike Shops in North America with 31 Franchises sold, has announced the introduction of new Franchise owners in nine key American markets including Santa Monica, Pasadena, Kona, Portland, San Diego, Boulder, Seattle, Cincinnati and Dallas. Velofix’s growth in the United States market comes on the heels of a successful introduction in Canada, where there are 19 Franchise Partners in major cities like Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. Velofix predicts that there will be 55 successful franchises in American cities within a year and will expand into markets in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Velofix will be at the Interbike tradeshow in Las Vegas with a fully loaded Mobile Bike Shop from September 14 to 18 (Booth #8230) and will be hosting a giveaway for a complete Park Tool Pro toolset.
“Based on our early success it’s clear that consumers are seeking a new and better way to have all of their cycling needs serviced,” said Velofix CEO and Co-Founder Chris Guillemet. “Consumer demand is overwhelming and we are looking hard for motivated and qualified people who want to be their own boss and make a great living doing something they love. We take away all the stresses in a mechanic’s life by offering state of the art systems for booking, billing, routing and inventory management. That leaves our franchise owners to do what they do best and to make money along the way.”
“It was always my dream to own and operate my own bike shop, but the investment and time required was just too much for me,” said Adam K. Velofix Ottawa Franchise Partner. “With Velofix I was able to purchase a franchise territory and launch a business within 90 days. I am now my own boss and get to set my schedule while working in an industry that I am truly passionate about and love.”
All Velofix Franchise owners purchase a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van that is outfitted better than most bike shops. Each van comes equipped with a full set of professional level Park Tools, a point of sale system, espresso machine, television and wifi. Velofix has created it’s own booking and payment system called Velonet. Consumers can book an appointment with their smartphone or computer using Velonet and Franchise owners have real time access to bookings and client information. Thanks to relationships with the leading distributors, Velofix franchise owners have access to the best pricing possible on the most commonly used equipment from leading brands like Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo and more.
Franchises have been purchased by owner/operators as well as savvy investors who see the longterm value in owing a number of Velofix vans that are operated by passionate and knowledgeable mechanics looking for opportunity beyond the four walls of a shop.
Velofix was started in 2012 by three passionate cyclists (Davide Xausa, Boris Martin and Chris Guillemet) who were frustrated with the traditional bike shop experience. After proving the Mobile Bike Shop concept, Velofix’ founders were able to raise funding from proven investors that include Charles Chang President & Founder of Vega/Sequel Naturals and international franchise experts Jim Treliving and George Melville. With 31 Franchises sold and 18 currently in operation, Velofix anticipates a high level of growth and profitability in the years to come.
