Zoot Sports Kicks Off 2019 Triathlon Season with Global #TeamZoot Camps

CARLSBAD, CA – Triathlon industry leader, Zoot Sports, kicked off the 2019 triathlon season with Team Zoot camps around the world. Team Zoot Camp athletes had the opportunity to descend on beaches, pools, and roads to get one-on-one coaching from professional triathletes, meet Zoot staff, test product, and get to know their fellow teammates.

The inaugural US camp saw over 50 athletes in attendance and had participants swimming, cycling, and running across north county San Diego. The camp was led by IRONMAN World Champion and Olympic medalist Michellie Jones and Robin Barsantee of Giddyup Multisport Training. Campers were also treated to a history of triathlon by industry legend, Bob Babbit, and they had the chance to meet 6-time IRONMAN Champion and Zoot athlete, Ben Hoffman.

Each athlete had access to exclusive products and experiences brought to life by this year’s Team Zoot USA partners who include Canyon, Garmin,Smith Optics, Zealios Skin Care & Sun Protection, Speedfil Products, Ottolock, ORR Carbon Wheels, BOCO Gear, BASE Performance, Theragun,Gatorade Endurance, and Giddy Up Multisports.

Meanwhile, the Team Zoot Europe Camp took place in France, with more than 70 athletes from over 20 European countries. “It was really inspiring to see so many athletes from so many countries sharing the same passion for triathlon as we do. Thanks to our partners, Masters of Tri and Professional Sports Recovery, team members were introduced to new ideas about how to train and recover faster and more efficiently,” says Zoot EU Marketing Manager, Manuel Sinner. Campers also met and learned from European pro triathlete, Geroge Goodwin.

Team Zoot members are also routinely a part of Zoot Sports’ product testing program. “This year we had really exciting, new fabric technologies we wanted to test, and what better group to demo new product than members of our team,” says Zoot Marketing Director, Mark Goddard. “We rely on the candid feedback of our athletes to help us in our pursuit of the best training and racing apparel on the market. The feedback we gathered at our camps will directly impact our designs moving forward as well as continue to keep us on the leading edge of what triathletes want in their gear.”

This season, Team Zoot will top 1,300 athletes worldwide and members will be donning Zoot custom apparel across the globe. “Never has the passion for the sport of triathlon or the dedication of our athletes been more apparent than at the Team Zoot Camps.
