Team XRCEL Puts Up Multiple Podium Finishes in September
October 8, 2019
XRCEL fueled Pros Carrie Lester, Rebeccah Wassner, Laurel Wassner and, Scott DeFilippis back to the Podium!
Charleston, SC (Oct 8, 2019) – – XRCEL Athlete Fuel congratulates its ambassadors Carrie Lester, Rebeccah Wassner, Laurel Wassner, and Scott DeFilippis for their podium worthy performances during the month. Team XRCEL is spending a lot of time on the podium this month.
“Our pros are having a stellar month. In addition to Carrie Lester’s continued success, Rebeccah & Laurel Wassner had great performances as did KIS Coach Scott DeFilippis. We fuel them and they just keep out performing!”, said Fred Sexton President and Founder of New World Consumer Products.
- Carrie Lester won again at Ventouxman 2019
- Rebeccah Wassner took the top spot in this year’s Toughman 70.3.
- Sister Laurel Wassner placed 3rd in IRONMAN 70.3 Xi’an, and
- Scott DeFilippis placed first in the masters, 4th overall, and had the fastest run split of the day at Ventouxman 2019.
“Because the Toughman bike course is so hilly, it takes about 20-30 minutes longer than a typical half ironman bike. Since I knew I’d be out there longer, I made sure to take in one more bottle of XRCEL than I normally do. This plan worked as I felt fresh and ready to run hard.” said Bec Wassner.
“Triathlon racing is never predictable; the weather can be extreme heat or freezing cold. The one constant I have is my XRCEL fueling plan. If I can execute what I do in training (approximately 1 bottle every 45 minutes), I know I can have a good race regardless of the conditions. In China we had rain and cold temperatures, but I felt fueled and focused the entire race.” said Laurel Wassner.
“3/4 of the way up the legendary Mont Ventoux I started to bonk and was out of fuel. Luckily, I had 2 XRCELS waiting in T2 for me. They saved my day, giving me the kick I needed to comeback and finish 4th overall with the fastest run of the day!” said Scott DeFilippis.
“We’re very excited for Rebeccah Wassner to have won this year’s Toughman half distance Triathlon. We’ve been fueling Rebeccah and her twin sister, Laurel Wassner, for 5 plus years and they continue to rise to the top. With 3 little kids, this busy mom has shown great focus, determination and will to win! Rebeccah is a very talented athlete and we are very proud to help fuel her journey to the top! said Laura DeMeo Business Development Manager – Endurance Sports for Team XRCEL. “Her sister, Laurel Wassner, is also a tough competitor and athlete! Having won 3 Iron distance races and countless other podium finishes, Laurel shows no signs of slowing down as evidenced by her most recent 3rd place finish at IRONMAN 70.3 Xi’an. Her ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changing race condition and stay mentally focused and strong is what makes her a real competitor. We’re proud to have fueled Laurel for over 5 years giving her the lasting energy to power her way to the top. Lastly, we’re thrilled for Scott to have finished first in the master’s division and 4th overall at Ventouxman. Along with Scott’s talent, incredible fitness, and simple fueling strategy based on XRCEL, Scott has had another fantastic season.”
