April 6, 2021

Climbing Brand Bolsters Existing Relationships and Adds New Organizations to Roster

Richmond, Calif. (April 06, 2021)– Mountain Hardwear, a leader in performance equipment and apparel for climbers, mountaineers, and athletes, announced its 2021 non-profit partnerships will include long-time allies American Alpine Club and American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA), and new additions, Protect Our Winters (POW) and YES Nature to Neighborhoods. The four partnerships will span the course of the year, giving Mountain Hardwear the opportunity to actively engage and support like-minded organizations.

“American Alpine Club and AMGA are long-time partners of ours and provide an opportunity to give back to the climbing community, which is core to the Mountain Hardwear brand, while POW and YES Nature to Neighborhoods provide an opportunity for more concerted conservation efforts and locally focused engagement in Richmond, where our brand is headquartered.” said Ashlee Peterson-Lambert, Partnerships Specialist for Mountain Hardwear, “We feel incredibly inspired by these four partners and look forward to the exciting collaborations and efforts we have in store for this year.”

YES Nature to Neighborhoods is a local organization based in Richmond, CA where Mountain Hardwear is also headquartered, that works to motivate change in their communities by inspiring youth, adults and families to lead healthy, connected lives. Mountain Hardwear will sponsor their annual Fund-Racer, and encourage volunteerism by providing employee opportunities to join in on local Nature Day family outings or weekend-long camp trips. In addition, POW is another new partnership that will facilitate a CSC employee “Earth Day” Lunch & Learn this month.

Mountain Hardwear has a long-standing partnership with American Alpine Club, having sponsored the McNeill-Nott Award for over 15 years; an award focused on celebrating the successes of female climbers and alpinists. And in partnership with AMGA , the brand will continue to sponsor the annual LGBTQIA2+ Single Pitch Course and assessment exam, which offers a unique opportunity for climbers to learn in a queer-and trans-centered enviornment.
