Live Event Broadcast Coverage Returns To Facebook Watch In 2021, Kicking Off With The Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship In St. George, Utah, Usa On Saturday, May 1

- Facebook Watch, the exclusive home of live IRONMAN race coverage will bring 18 events of the 2021 season to fans globally, including the Supersapiens IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i and Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship presented by Utah Sports Commission in St. George, Utah (USA)

TAMPA, Fla. (April 26, 2021) – Following its Sports Emmy nomination for the coverage of the IRONMAN VR Pro Challenge on Facebook Watch, IRONMAN, announced today the return of live event coverage on Facebook Watch via the IRONMAN Now®Channel for the fourth straight year, featuring events from around the world in 2021. Available globally to fans on Facebook Watch, the coverage debuts on Saturday, May 1 with the Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN®70.3® North American Championship taking place in St. George, Utah (USA).

IRONMAN will produce its live coverage for a connected audience, incorporating unique viewer interaction through Facebook Watch parties, real-time polls, fan discussion, and user generated content.

Following the IRONMAN 70.3 event in St. George, coverage will continue at the inaugural Certified Piedmontese IRONMAN Tulsa triathlon taking place on Sunday, May 23. Age group and professional triathletes will converge on Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA for a 140.6-mile journey, as they take on a 2.4-mile swim in Keystone Lake before climbing the Oklahoma hills with a 112-mile bike and concluding the 26.2-mile marathon run with a finish in vibrant downtown Tulsa.

Extensive coverage will also return to the stunning red rock canyons in St. George, Utah for the 2021 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship presented by Utah Sports Commission on September 17 – 18, with top professional and age-group triathletes from around the world testing their mettle.

Fans of triathlon can also circle the crown jewel of endurance racing as the 2021 Supersapiens IRONMAN World Championship®, which takes place annually in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i. The event will again receive robust week-long programming, culminating in nearly a full day of live race coverage on Saturday, October 9. The last IRONMAN World Championship broadcast, in 2019, included more than 20 hours of comprehensive live race day coverage, including everything from the early morning body marking to the final hour finish line celebration.

Additional races with live broadcast coverage will be announced as the year unfolds.

Throughout the year, the fully produced live event broadcast coverage will be hosted by past champions of IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events, including Dede Griesbauer, Matt Lieto, and Michael Lovato, as well as IRONMAN World Champions and Hall of Famers Paula Newby Fraser and Greg Welch.
