Life Time Acquires Phoenix 10K, Expanding Athletic Events Strategy
May 6, 2026
Life Time has acquired the Phoenix 10K, a 51-year-old Arizona road race, to expand its portfolio of 30 athletic events amid surging running participation.
The deal comes as running continues to see increased participation growth, from the advent of “runcations” to tentpole events like the Boston Marathon, which saw more than 30,000 participants this year.
Life Time has been steadily building out its athletic events business beyond its luxury country club footprint. The brand now owns 30 such events, including the Miami Marathon, Unbound Gravel and the Leadville Race Series. They have also made a push into the hybrid fitness space with LT Games. The 17-stage competition is supported by dedicated training classes, such as Hybrid XT, set to roll out across select Life Time clubs. Athletech News
