iFit-Powered NordicTrack Treadmills Awarded Runner’s World Editors’ Choice for the Second Year

January 15, 2020

Runner’s World testers loved a wide range of iFit interactive workouts on the NordicTrack Commercial 2950 and Commercial 1750

(Logan, Utah — January 15, 2020) — iFit, the interactive connected fitness technology, is the differentiating feature that led Runner’s World to give the coveted designation of Editors’ Choice award to two NordicTrack treadmills.

“[iFit] actually kept me engaged in the running, rather than droning music and TV,” said Pat Heine, Runner’s Worldvideo producer and ultra runner, in reference to a series of iFit Global Workouts shot on location in Patagonia. “The trail climb I did had a lot of speed and incline variation that felt natural.”

Connected fitness is a major trend in running, fitness and exercise, and iFit’s offering in this category is a definitive level up in the marketplace because iFit is interactive between the equipment, user and iFit trainers in the streamed workouts.

The speed and incline variation mentioned by Runner’s World is automatically controlled by iFit technology, which creates a more realistic outdoor experience because iFit moves the incline in sync with the actual terrain. The hands-free adjustments are a proprietary feature unique to iFit-enabled equipment, which Runner’s World highlightsas “pros” for both the NordicTrack Commercial 2950 and 1750 treadmills.

iFit’s premier trainers were also a stand out for testers. Compared to other connected fitness virtual classes on the market, Runner’s Worldtesters enjoyed the elite iFit athletes who share their professional running and hiking knowledge in the workouts.

“You can get video lessons from coaches like elite runner Tommy Rivers Puzey,” the review stated. “One tester virtually followed pro [trail runner] Lucy Bartolomew on a gentle trail run in the countryside of Germany.”

Testers highlighted the large touchscreen display on the NordicTrack Commercial 2950 as a “pro”. At 22 inches, the display enhances the iFit interactivity features, creating a dynamic experience that allows exercisers to become fully immersed in the workout.

“The large display helps you forget that you’re stuck in your basement on a cold winter morning,” the review stated.

Price was also a key factor in designating the Editors’ Choice title to the Commercial 1750, and the newly increased 10-inch touchscreen display was also well received.

“Bang for your buck, the 1750 has always been hard to beat. The updated version is even better,” the review said. “Now you’re less likely to need those speed adjustment buttons thanks to a larger touchscreen and the ever-growing library of trainer-led workouts. The 10-inch screen offers double the real estate of the earlier model.”

The award-winning NordicTrack Commercial 2950 ($2,999) and Commercial 1750 ($1,799)  as well as the NordicTrack C900 ($1,599) were also featured in Runner’s World’s “The 15 Best Treadmills for Every Type of Runner.”
