2023 Visit Tuscaloosa Half Marathon & Publix 5K Expects High Tides of Runners for the 11th Year

Runners from 33 states and DC visit T-Town

TUSCALOOSA, AL. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Tuscaloosa is set to welcome over 1,100 runners from 33 U.S. states including the District of Columbia for the 11th Annual Visit Tuscaloosa Half Marathon and Publix 5K.  The premier 13.1-mile race is the city’s longest-distance running race offering runners and walkers scenic views of Tuscaloosa.

Runners from ‘Bama and beyond will experience the beauty of West Alabama with the half marathon course winding through the rolling hills along the Black Warrior River, the Tuscaloosa River Walk, portions of the University of Alabama campus, and some quaint downtown neighborhoods. Runners competing in the 5K will loop around Government Plaza off of 6th Street where both races start and finish. The day doesn’t end at the finish line, as finishers are invited to the Post-Race Party while they enjoy live music from Tab & The Mojo, barbeque favorite pulled pork and pasta salad, ice-cold Coca-Cola products, and refreshing Michelob Ultras for those 21+.

The event’s re-brand to the 2023 Visit Tuscaloosa Half Marathon highlights the important economic and cultural impact that tourism has on this lively city. The race has drawn participants from over 25+ cities in Alabama outside of Tuscaloosa to enjoy the local hotels, restaurants, and experiences that Tuscaloosa has to offer in addition to the weekend’s festivities.
