Volunteering provides fun, easy way to engage with 2023 Race Weekend festivities

January 4, 2023

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Volunteer Team registration for the 2023 Little Rock Marathon opens today. Everyone who registers before January 27 is guaranteed a souvenir Marathon shirt.

To register, simply go to the official Volunteer Team signup page on Race Roster: https://raceroster.com/events/2023/66451/2023-little-rock-marathon-volunteers

Race weekend runs March 4-5, 2023. The Little Rock Marathon is a project of Little Rock Parks and Recreation.

Marathon Executive Director Geneva Lamm said that more than 75 volunteer groups – or more than 2,000 people – serve as volunteers during Race Weekend. Lamm was quick to note that the success of the weekend is tied to the energy and drive the Volunteer Team brings.

“We are a volunteer-driven organization,” Lamm said. “Without the high-energy and talent of our incredible Volunteer Team, this race does not happen. Our volunteers are at the heart of what makes our race so unique and fun.”

Volunteer Chairman Darren Tillery echoed Lamm’s sentiments. “If you want to experience the excitement of Race Weekend without training for a race, then joining the Volunteer Team is for you,” he said. “Our race would not be possible without the support of so many volunteers who help throughout the entire weekend.”

Race weekend includes the Little Rock Marathon Health & Fitness Expo; the Little Rock Marathon, presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette; the Little Rock Half Marathon, presented by Baptist Health; the Little Rock 10K, presented by Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield; the Little Rock 5K, presented by Arkansas Federal Credit Union; and the Little Rockers Final Mile.
