Sportstats Extends Timing Agreement with The IRONMAN Group for Three Years Across All North America IRONMAN, IRONMAN 70.3 and Rock ‘N’ Roll Running Series Events

April 13, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, USA / NEPEAN, Ontario, Canada (April 13, 2021) – Throughout a 24-year partnership, a genuinely great union has flourished between The IRONMAN Group and Sportstats. It was announced today that the partnership has been renewed for an additional three years across all IRONMAN®, IRONMAN 70.3 and Rock ‘n’ Roll® Running Series events in North America with the first Sportstats-timed event of the year taking place at IRONMAN® 70.3® Texas taking place on Sunday, April 11 in Galveston, Texas.

“As we return to racing in 2021, we are excited to see athletes experience the life-changing races that they expect from IRONMAN with the support of the Sportstats team,” said Keats McGonigal, Vice President of Operations, North America for The IRONMAN Group. “Our athletes expect fair and accurate results, whether they are competing for a world championship slot at an IRONMAN triathlon or looking to hit a new PR at a Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series event. The work that Sportstats does to ensure that the results meet these high standards sets the bar for timing companies across the globe. The IRONMAN Group is proud of its longstanding and ongoing partnership with the Sportstats team.”

As the future of IRONMAN and Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series events continues to look bright, so does the marriage of updated technology from Marc Roy, Isabelle Fradette, and the rest of the integrated Sportstats team. Today, Sportstats is ready to welcome new and existing participants back to live events with more timing mats on each IRONMAN and Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series North America course, new LED finish lines with participant names and times, and better data feed for live event coverage.

“It’s an exciting moment for IRONMAN and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series in North America as we see the United States continue to open and we see interest in one of the world’s great sporting events continue to grow,” said Marc Roy, Sportstats CEO. “We’ve been working hard throughout the pandemic to be ready to meet the demand for live in-person IRONMAN events and we know that with the return of events, our technology will be better than anything competitors have ever seen.”
