Salomon Partners with USA Champion and Elite Coach Lauren Fleshman

January 14, 2020

One of the leading advocates for inclusivity in running joins Salomon’s athlete team for 2020

OGDEN, Utah (January 14, 2020) — Today, Salomon proudly announces that Lauren Fleshman will be representing Salomon footwear and hydration across road and trail as part of the US athlete team. Fleshman’s storied track and field career includes multiple NCAA championships and wins at the national and international level, and she’s since become a leader in the running community as a running coach, author, business owner and lifelong competitor. Her values-driven approach as well as her commitment to inspiring inclusivity, diversity and female participation in running makes her the ideal candidate to join Salomon’s family.

“Lauren’s record on the track speaks for itself, but her talent for inspiring and cultivating community is what really sets her apart. She embodies a lot of the values that we believe in here at Salomon, and we’re really excited to have her with us,” says Erin Cooper, run marketing manager for Salomon in North America. “Salomon is putting a lot of energy into its WMN women’s campaign, and to have someone like Lauren with us as we continue to advocate for female participation and fair treatment in sport is really meaningful.”

Lauren Fleshman, 38 of Bend, Oregon, is a former American track and field athlete. Her storied running career includes being named a 15-time All American and securing 5 NCAA championships while running at Stanford University. She then earned US championship titles in the 5000 meters in 2006 and 2010 and competing in the ITAFF World Championships in Athletics in 2003, 2005 and 2011. Her 7th place finish at the 2011 event was the highest ever finish by an American woman at that time.

Beyond her accomplishments on the track, Fleshman advocates for athlete rights as a published author as well as a contributor for titles like The New York Times and Runner’s World. Additionally, she coaches Littlewing Athletics, a group of elite female runners based in Bend, Oregon, co-founded Picky Bars and co-hosts the Work, Play, Love podcast. She is also an amazing mother and brings transparency to the realities of family, work pressure and life in all aspects. Lauren is also a partner at Oiselle, the industry reference in female empowerment through sport.

“I have long admired Salomon’s commitment to developing best-in-class products for athletes,” says Fleshman. “As someone who seeks a lifelong healthy relationship with running on the roads and trails, I am thrilled to have Salomon as my partner for footwear and hydration this year. My goals are to run healthy, break down real and imagined barriers between road and trail, and contribute to a more inclusive running community overall. Salomon shares these values, and has the leadership and scope to help build an inclusive community from the ground up.”

Fleshman, along with fellow Salomon athletes Courtney Dauwalter, Cat Bradley and Stevie Kremer, will host the upcoming WMN Trail ½ Marathon in Lake Sonoma, California in April. Fleshman will host clinics, and group runs throughout the weekend. Fleshman will represent Salomon in races and through brand ambassador appearances and projects.
