RRCA Announces Recipients for Special Grants to Athletes that have Qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials – Marathon

Seventeen Athletes to be awarded a total of $45,000 as they prepare for the 2020 Olympic Trials – Marathon

Arlington, VA – The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is pleased to announce that seventeen athletes have been selected to receive a grant from the RRCA. Each athlete will receive $2,500 through this special grant fund, with previous Roads Scholar grantees receiving an additional $500.  The grants are designed to support top U.S. athletes that applied for the grant as they prepare for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials – Marathon to be hosted in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

“The RRCA adds to its proud 60-year tradition of athlete support by awarding these grants to a broad range of Olympic hopefuls preparing for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials – Marathon,” said Jean Knaack, RRCA executive director. “At the 2016 Olympic Trials – Marathon, the RRCA provided financial support to 21 athletes.  We hope to have a similarly strong showing of RRCA supported athlete’s for 2020 through this grant effort coupled with our Roads Scholar grant fund and RunPro Camp program.”

The RRCA is proud to award a total of $45,000 to following athletes that have qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and have verified they plan to run in the event:


To round out the financial support for the project, the RRCA will award a bonus to the male and female athletes from this group that earn a spot on Team USA for the 2020 Summer Olympics – Marathon in Tokyo, Japan.
