Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon Series Announces Apple Pay Is Now Available and The Preferred Method of Payment for All U.S. Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon Series Events

Apple Pay improves the overall Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series event experience providing further convenience for runners, family and friends

TAMPA, Fla. (February 11, 2020) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series®, a part of The IRONMAN Group, announced today Apple Pay is now available and is the preferred method of payment for all U.S-based Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series events. Beginning at the 2020 Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll® Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon,  runners, family and friends can enjoy the convenience of being able to make purchases with just their Apple Watch or iPhone at Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series events throughout the weekend, from the Health & Fitness Expo all the way through the post-race Finish Line Festival.

Participants in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series won’t have to worry about carrying cash or cards with them to the start line. With Apple Pay, they will now be able to utilize an Apple Watch or iPhone to make a purchase. Apple Pay is an easy, secure way to pay in stores, within apps, and online with an Apple device.

Apple Pay will be accepted at various locations throughout each Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series event weekend, including within the Finish Line Festival, where food trucks that are on-site will be offering “happy hour” special pricing at certain points throughout the day.

“We are continuously working to improve and better our experience, and one way is by making Apple Pay our preferred method of payment,” said Elizabeth O’Brien, Managing Director of North America for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “Our goal is to provide a great experience for race participants, family and friends by giving them the ability to make a cashless transaction throughout the event weekend. We know many participants are already wearing their Apple Watch or carrying their iPhone. Now they’ll be able to experience the sights and sounds of our events without having to carry unnecessary items on their run.”
