ROAD iD and 2021 Badwater Ultramarathon 135 Winner, Harvey Lewis Team Up to Save Lives, Empower Students and Fuel Dreams

August 5, 2021

First of the Dream Big Collection in the Horizon Series, The Limited Edition Dream Big American Southwest ID Helps Raise Funds for Students.

ROAD iD, the premiere line of wearable identification products for runners and Harvey Lewis, High School Teacher / Ultrarunner and two-time winner (2014 & 2021) and ten-time finisher of the legendary BADWATER® 135 Ultramarathon announce the launch of the 2021 Limited Edition Pin-Tuck Dream Big Wrist ID.  And to help raise funds for the Todd Jeffries ROAD iD Scholarship at School of Creative and Performing Arts they’re donating $10 of every Dream Big Wrist ID sold to help inspire and empower graduating SCPA seniors to go after their dreams, no matter how big.

The first of the Dream Big Collection in the Horizon Series, the American Southwest premium molded silicone band design brings the natural beauty of the landscape to life in a bold burgundy ID overlaid with golden rust, orange, and desert hues to create a striking Southwest sunset landscape.

“It’s exciting to be able to celebrate my 10th Badwater run through this collaboration with ROAD iD while donating to a great cause, and nodding to one of my absolute favorite places to run – the American Southwest. The environment of the Southwest inspires my imagination. I won this year’s Badwater with my ROAD iD at my side as usual. I don’t run anywhere without it. It gives me and my family peace of mind knowing if anything happens I’ll never be alone. By the way it still looks brand new after 135 miles in Death Valley”, said Harvey.

The world renowned Badwater Ultramarathon 135, known as the “world’s toughest foot race” pits up to 100 of the world’s toughest athletes against one another starting from below sea level in Death Valley through scorching temperatures of up to 125 degrees fahrenheit and takes runners up to altitudes as high as 8,360 feet (2548m) up Mt. Whitney. The invitational Badwater 135 is the most demanding and extreme running race on the planet.

“We continue to be amazed and inspired by Harvey and are thrilled for his Badwater win.  Harvey has been a part of the ROAD iD family for years and we’re humbled and honored to partner with him to save lives and help fuel the adventures and dreams of his students.” said Edward Wimmer.

Longtime local partner of ROAD iD and friends of Harvey, the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon will also be raising funds for the cause.  “Harvey Lewis is a Flying Pig Marathon “streaker,” having completed each Flying Pig Marathon since its beginning in 1999. And, he just finished his eighth school year of run-commuting to his classroom at SCPA everyday.  Not only does Harvey motivate and inspire all runners, he motivates students to run at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, starting a running club at SCPA to train for Flying Pig events.  We are thrilled to get involved and give our support to the local community.” said Iris Simpson-Bush, Executive Director of The Flying Pig Marathon.
