World-Class Cycling Event Returns to California's Famous Leadbetter Beach in 2019
Scheduled for October 19, 2019, the new RideSB100 is based on its namesake, the “Santa Barbara 100” charity ride, which last ran in 2017. The new event owned by Easy Day Sports will follow a similar format and follow the same epic cycling routes that professional riders train on and OutsideOnline named one of “9 American Centuries to Master.”
“The new Ride Santa Barbara 100 will follow the same amazing routes that drew cyclists from the local community and around the world for nearly a decade,” said Jamie Monroe, RideSB100 race director and owner of Easy Day Sports. “The RideSB100 is largely based on the past Santa Barbara 100, and we will work hard to honor that great event, its founders, board members, volunteers, and riders. We look forward to carrying on the tradition while also incorporating some fun and fresh new twists.”
RideSB100 delivers one of the most scenic, challenging and fun cycling experiences in the country, and is also the only major cycling event that starts and finishes at the famous Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara, California.
Featuring four routes, RideSB100 caters to riders of varying skill and experience levels. Routes include:
- 100-mile: An advanced ride featuring the Gibraltar Challenge, a grueling 3,000-foot climb in just 7-miles.
- 100-km + Gibraltar: For experienced riders who want to tackle the famous Gibraltar Challenge.
- 100-km: A challenging cycling experience featuring coastal and mountain roads.
- 34-mile: A fun and scenic course for casual riders and weekend warriors.
