INDIANAPOLIS (January 21, 2020) – The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, today announces that registration is now open for the 2020 Salesforce & JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Rookie Run, which will take place on Saturday, May 9, from 12:30-3:00 pm in downtown Indianapolis.

All kids, ages 3-10, are invited to participate in the 2020 Salesforce & JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Rookie Run, a non-competitive fun run, which is in its 26th year. Now through May 6, you can pre-register for $8, which includes a commemorative t-shirt. Or, you can register on-site on the day of the event for $5 and shirts will be available to purchase separately for $5, while supplies last. As part of the 2020 Salesforce & JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day, the Rookie Run is a great way to introduce kids to the basics of running and enjoy the excitement of a race – including a start and finish line production, a massive cheering section, a trip through runner’s services, and the occasional celebrity sighting!

“As we look toward the excitement that the month of May holds, we’re eager to provide another season of enriching events and programs,” said 500 Festival president and CEO Bob Bryant. “Each year, the Salesforce & JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Rookie Run provides kids with an exhilarating experience of their own race, all while bringing Hoosier families together to encourage physical, mental, and social health. We can’t wait to see Indiana’s smallest runners on May 9 as they take on the Rookie Run and discover how much fun fitness can be!”

The Rookie Run occurs during the Salesforce & JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day, the state’s largest free outdoor festival just for kids. The Rookie Run takes place in downtown Indianapolis, one block north of Monument Circle at Ohio and Meridian streets. Race distances are set based upon a child’s age and all participants will receive a goodie bag, a participant bib, and a finisher’s medal – just like the Indy Mini participants!
