TAMPA, Fla. (March 1, 2019) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series® today announced a new partnership with SmileDirectClub, the pioneer of doctor-directed, remote invisible aligner therapy, to help runners smile at the finish line with confidence. SmileDirectClub will be sponsoring six Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series events across the U.S. in 2019, including events in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Nashville, San Diego, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Kicking off on March 9 and culminating on November 17, runners will have the opportunity to engage with SmileDirectClub at both pre-race Health & Fitness Expos and at race day activations.
“We are proud to partner with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series this year,” said Alex Fenkell, co-founder of SmileDirectClub. “I admire the runners and the determination it takes to complete a marathon. At SmileDirectClub, our mission is to empower people with the confidence of a smile they can be proud of. We’re excited to partner with an organization that’s also centered on empowerment and spreading positivity.”
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and SmileDirectClub are joining forces to spread shared messages of empowerment and confidence, which can be achieved both through the marathon training process, as well as having a smile you’re truly proud of. Smiling while running is proven to increase endurance performance and have a positive effect on runners; with SmileDirectClub, everyone is bound to be grinning ear to ear once they cross that Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series finish line.
“This partnership celebrates the common mission between both brands, which is to empower people to reach their goals through self-improvement and increased confidence,” said Stuart Selig, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships for IRONMAN.
At Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Health & Fitness Expos, race participants can learn about SmileDirectClub and book a free 3D scan on its SmileBus, the brand’s mobile clinic, where they’ll receive $100 off their aligners, plus a complimentary bright on™ professional whitening kit and SmileDirectClub swag. SmileDirectClub’s booth will welcome runners to record photo and video messages for fellow racers, post their personal motivational mantras on a Smile Wall, and have a place for spectators to design their own posters to cheer on friends and family.
On race days, SmileDirectClub will sponsor a dedicated “Smile Mile” on each course to engage with runners and keep them motivated and smiling as they push forward. The Smile Mile will feature a branded inflatable arch, flags and “Blurple Road” decals with fun phrases and content to keep people motivated and confident along their run. Runners will be encouraged to keep the confidence going post-race at the Finish Line Festival at SmileDirectClub’s Smile Zone, featuring the SmileBus to greet and congratulate runners. There will be a Step & Repeat to capture the celebratory moment, and a recovery area with post-race Yoga to wind down and stretch.
