Win a Grand Prize of $7,500 and NordicTrack equipment to train for and take on a dream outdoor adventure

(Logan, Utah — December 30, 2019) — NordicTrack x iFit and GearJunkie are teaming up for the second year for the 2020 Adventure Grant. The Grand Prize winner will win $7,500 and NordicTrack equipment of their choice — a value up to $5,000 — to train for and take on their dream outdoor adventure.

iFit, the interactive, connected fitness platform for NordicTrack equipment, automatically adjusts incline, decline, speed, and resistance to match the natural topography throughout the iFit Global Workouts, which are shot on location in more than 40 countries around the globe. This virtual outdoor experience makes it possible for hikers to prepare, for example, to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, runners to train for Boston Marathon, and bikers to rehearse a ride through the trails of the Swiss Alps. With at-home training, hikers, bikers, runners, or rowers feel strong and prepared for their next adventure, wherever in the world it may be.

The contest is now open through February 7, 2020. Participants can enter by visiting the GearJunkie and NordicTrack x iFit Adventure Grant site and submitting a description of their adventure resolution, along with a photo. Four finalists will be selected by the GearJunkie team on February 10, 2020, and the Grand Prize winner will be voted for by the GearJunkie, NordicTrack, and iFit social media audiences.

  • Round one social media voting: 2/12 – 2/16
  • Round two social media voting: 2/19 – 2/23
  • Grand Prize winner announced: 2/24

The three runners-up will also win NordicTrack equipment of their choice, including one year of iFit interactive connected subscription, plus VIP delivery and assembly.

Last year’s winner, Sara Aranda, set her sights on a 100-mile traverse across the Wind River range from north to south, with 29,000 feet of elevation gain and 65 percent off-trail navigation. With the financial help of the NordicTrack x iFit sponsored Gear Junkie Adventure Grant, Akande achieved her goal of setting a Fastest Known Time (FKT).

“As a writer and adventure enthusiast, I’ve always dreamed of embarking on an ambitious trek — one that I can document and contribute to the redefining of mountain literature,” Aranda said.

Aranda‘s honest account of her journey documents the mental and physical challenges she faced, advice for those who wish to embark on a similar trek, and the mantras and techniques she used to overcome the obstacles that came with such a rigorous adventure.

“Thanks to the NordicTrack x iFit and GearJunkie Adventure Grant, I was able to achieve my goal and, hopefully, have a lasting impact on how people view and interact with nature.”
