New Flat, Fast and Scenic trail Marathon and Ultra Marathons coming to Eastern Pennsylvania

August 20, 2019

Erwinna,  Pennsylvania – August 20, 2019 – There is a new endurance trail running series of races taking place this Fall along the scenic Delaware and Raritan Canal Towpaths. The MuleSkinner Endurance Races are being put on by race promoters Spirit Trips LLC who are developing unique endurance races in historic and iconic locations throughout North America.

The First Annual MuleSkinner Endurance Races include a 26.2 mile, 50K and 50 mile distances along the historic  Delaware and Raritan Canal Towpaths in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The looped courses all start and finish at beautiful Tinicum Park in Erwinna Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Aide Stations will be located approx. 6-7 miles apart and stocked with water, sports drinks, fruits and snacks. Runners start at the park and follow the super flat gravel towpath south through the Delaware Canal State Park before crossing into New Jersey and turning north on the Raritan Canal State Park towpath, and then finally crossing back into Pennsylvania and finishing back at Tinicum Park where they started.

The idea for the MuleSkinner Endurance series came to Spirit Trips founder and adventurer Sean Tracy after experiencing other scenic ultra-marathons around North America.

“People are looking for epic adventures in iconic locations around the country and having been involved with endurance adventures from Death Valley to Denali, it hit me while I was running the first ever Delaware Canal 50 mile running loop that Bucks County was one of those iconic destination locations,” said Tracy.

Spirit Trips LLC is currently promoting the MuleSkinner Endurance series and The Denali135 Ultra Marathon for 2019-2020 with other unique endurance races in the works.
