New Devote Sharpens Its Focus on Gravel Racing

Developed as a complete gravel race system, the new Devote Advanced SL delivers measurable gains in speed, efficiency, and handling precision for the demands of gravel competition.

Positioned at the top of the Devote gravel range, the Devote Advanced SL introduces Advanced SL-grade composite construction, AeroSystem Shaping, and race-focused geometry to the platform for the first time.

CARRY SPEED

The new Devote Advanced SL expands Advanced SL-grade composite construction to both the frame and fork, significantly reducing weight while increasing stiffness-to-weight efficiency. Compared to the outgoing Devote Advanced Pro system, the Devote Advanced SL 0 with CADEX Max GXR WheelSystem delivers a 25% improvement in pedaling stiffness-to-weight efficiency and a 38.5% improvement in handling stiffness-to-weight efficiency.

Advanced manufacturing methods including a proprietary carbon resin formula, Continuous Fiber Technology, fully integrated inner molding, and precision cold-blade cutting reduce overall system weight while maintaining the responsive power transfer and steering precision required for modern gravel racing.

As a complete race system, the Devote Advanced SL 0, including the frameset, CADEX Max GXR WheelSystem, Liv Contact SLR XR Integrated Handlebar, and CADEX GXR 45mm race tires, weighs 4,223 grams, saving 297 grams over the previous flagship Devote Advanced Pro system, despite its wider 45mm race tires.

KEEP MOMENTUM

The Devote Advanced SL applies AeroSystem Shaping across the frameset, fork, and cockpit, engineered as a unified gravel race system to reduce resistance and conserve energy across demanding race conditions.

Wind tunnel testing against the Devote Advanced Pro confirms a total system savings of 20.03 watts using rider positions matched to the intended geometry and riding style of each platform. The Devote Advanced Pro was tested in a more upright all-road gravel position, while the Devote Advanced SL was tested in its new race-focused riding position developed around lower stack, longer reach, and a more aggressive front-end setup.

Rolling resistance improvements further increase overall efficiency. The new CADEX GXR 45mm race tire reduces rolling resistance by 3.03 watts per bike compared to the prior CADEX GX 40mm tire at equivalent pressure, while the additional volume improves control and capability on rough gravel terrain.

To better represent how women shape airflow in real riding positions, Liv developed “Georgia,” a next-generation wind tunnel mannequin created using the body dimensions of Liv AlUla Jayco athlete Georgia Baker as a reference point.

Built using advanced 3D printing and modular construction, Georgia features realistic torso shaping and dynamic riding adjustability that more accurately reflect how women sustain speed across rough terrain and long gravel race distances. This testing process allows aerodynamic systems to be developed around how women actually ride, helping optimize efficiency across realistic gravel race positions and conditions.

HOLD LINES

The new Devote Advanced SL introduces updated race-focused geometry engineered around the demands of gravel racing. A lower stack, longer reach, steeper head tube angle, reduced trail, and longer front-center create a more aggressive and efficient riding position while improving high-speed stability and steering precision.

Optimized around modern 45mm gravel race tires with clearance for up to 53mm, the new geometry balances rolling speed, grip, and handling confidence across rough, loose, and unpredictable terrain.

The result is a more precise and efficient gravel race platform designed to conserve energy, maintain momentum, and stay composed when speeds stay high and the course starts breaking apart.

The Devote Advanced SL was developed alongside Liv Racing Collective privateers Tessa Neejfes and Melisa Rollins, who are competing at the highest levels of gravel racing. Their direct feedback informed the bike’s handling characteristics, efficiency targets, tire optimization, and overall race performance priorities.
