Levisay will step down as head of The Pro’s Closet; Calandrella to succeed him

March 14, 2023

John Levisay, who has led The Pro’s Closet for the past 2½ years, will leave his position as CEO at the end of this month to spend more time with his family. Paul Calandrella, formerly TPC’s vice president of strategic initiatives, was named general manager and will be in charge of day-to-day operations. Calandrella, who has been with TPC since March 2022, has 15 years in the bicycle industry. Before joining TPC, he was REI Co-op’s divisional vice president of activity strategy.

In January, TPC announced its second round of layoffs in the past three months. The company that began in 2002 as an eBay store for pre-owned bikes and quickly expanded in size and workforce did not say how many employees were affected. In October, The Pro’s Closet reduced its workforce by 15%. BRAIN
