Island of the Gods welcomes 1500 riders to GFNY Bali

Riders from 30 countries prepare for a breathtaking race that will showcase the islands natural beauty

NEW YORK CITY, February 20, 2019 – The GFNY Global Cycling Marathon Series remains in South East Asia for the second edition of GFNY Bali that takes place this Sunday, February 24.

The spectacular host hotel Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort is a short 6km ride from the start and finish in Klungklung. The competitive long route encompasses 134km with 2215m of climbing. Following the island’s coastal road for 35km before turning to Bangbang and a climb to the crater rim of volcano, Gunung Baur, Kintamani before descending via Bangli back to Klungkung.

The 90km medium non-competitive route will not include the climb to Gunung Baur, but instead, will descend via Bukit Jambul with beautiful coastal views all the way back to Klungkung.

The top 10% of finishers on the competitive route will qualify for the racer corral at the 2019 GFNY World Championship NYC.

At all GFNY events, riders have the chance to qualify for the elite racer corral at the GFNY World Championship in NYC by placing in the top 10% (20% at regional championships) of their age group.

Campagnolo GFNY World Championship NYC

The 9th annual Campagnolo GFNY World Championship New York will be held on May 19, 2019. The race features the world’s most international peloton with riders from over 90 countries. Athletes take on a challenging 100-mile route from NYC to Bear Mountain to Fort Lee to compete against each other, the clock and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.
