TEMPE, Ariz. (Nov. 13, 2023) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – IRONMAN has announced that it will celebrate 20 years of racing at the 2024 edition of the Paradox IRONMAN® Arizona triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series. Since the inaugural edition in 2005, this iconic southwestern IRONMAN triathlon has become a staple on the global IRONMAN triathlon series attracting athletes from around the world to race through Arizona’s stunning desert landscapes. The 2024 Paradox IRONMAN Arizona triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series is scheduled to take place on Nov. 17, 2024.
Over the past two decades, the IRONMAN Arizona triathlon has seen thousands of inspired athletes descend on the Valley of the Sun to experience the popular late season race. Known for its warmth and over 300 days of sunshine, Tempe and the greater Phoenix area has delivered an unforgettable racing experience featuring urban charm and scenic desert vistas. From first-time finishers to seasoned veterans, each athlete’s story is a testament to the indomitable spirit that drives athletes year after year to come race in Arizona.

Athletes will be able to register for the 2024 Paradox IRONMAN Arizona triathlon onsite at the IRONMAN Village at Tempe Beach Park during race week. General registration for the 2024 edition will open online to the public on Nov. 27, 2023 at www.ironman.com/im-arizona-register.

Before celebrating the 20th anniversary next year, this year’s race promises to be yet another extraordinary celebration of athleticism, community, and the enduring spirit of IRONMAN racing. Taking place on Sunday, Nov. 19, over 2,000 registered athletes are expected to toe the start line of the 2023 Paradox IRONMAN Arizona triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series. The race begins with a new and improved 2.4-mile swim in Tempe Town Lake. Athletes will then start a three-loop 112-mile bike course through the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community and out to the Beeline Highway. The bike course features spectacular desert scenery as athletes begin their final descent towards the lake. The two-loop run course takes athletes along the banks of Tempe Town Lake before journeying through Papago Park and Rio Salado Parkway. The 26.2-mile run culminates with cheering spectators and a thrilling finish line experience.
