November 26, 2019

BEDFORD, VIRGINIA and QINGDAO, CHINA:  November 19, 2019: Peaks Coaching Group (PCG) of Bedford, Virginia and Magene Power of Qingdao, China announce a partnership to create the first structured cycling coaching organization in China.

“After spending a month in China in 2018, it was obvious to me that cycling as a sport is just exploding,” says Hunter Allen, CEO/Founder of PCG. “Their thirst for knowledge about power training and how to improve is unquenchable.  It’s an exciting endeavor, and I am proud that Magene Power has decided to create this incredible affiliate location in Qingdao. It’s a ground floor opportunity like no other, and the team at Magene are poised to make this an incredible success.”

Known as “Magene Power Peaks Coaching Group,” the PCG affiliate will begin operation in 2020 throughout China – as Chinese cyclists and triathletes begin working with the best power coaches in China. The sport of cycling continues on an incredible trajectory in China, with bike races and gran fondos growing exponentially.

Kerwin Yang,  Director of PCG China says: “We are excited that the ‘Father’ of power training is working directly with us to create the best coaches in China, and I know we will be able to take Hunter’s power training principles and help so many Chinese cyclists. Hunter has a great reputation in China already with his book, ‘Training and Racing with a Power Meter.’ TRWPM has been translated into Chinese and many cyclists are already aware of the science behind training with power. We are very proud to be working with Hunter and his team in the USA, as they have developed something really special–and I know that Chinese cyclists will be able to take advantage of all our power training tools.”

About Hunter Allen

Legendary cycling coach Hunter Allen is the co-author of Training and Racing with a Power Meter, which has sold over 130,000 copies and is available in over 20 languages. He co-authored Cutting-Edge Cycling and co-developed the industry-standard TrainingPeaks’ WKO+ software.  The 3rd edition of Training and Racing with a Power Meter was released in early 2019, offering even more pioneering insight to the principles of power training.

Widely known as one of the top experts in the world in coaching endurance athletes using power meters, Hunter Allen’s goal has always been to teach athletes how to maximize their training and racing potential through professional analysis of their power data. This goes hand in hand with his philosophy that a power meter helps athletes discover their true strengths and weaknesses, quantitatively assess their training improvements, and refine and maximize the focus of their training.
