Healthy Kids Running Series Partnering with RunDoyen Coaches to Motivate Participants

April 7, 2021

Healthy Kids Running Series is partnering with RunDoyen, the leading source of online coaching for runners, to motivate its participants and their families to live active healthy lifestyles. Healthy Kids Running Series is the largest co-ed youth running series offering a five-week program for children aged 2 to 14.  Each Spring and Fall, kids compete once a week in age-appropriate distances to believe in themselves and lead an active healthy lifestyle.

RunDoyen helps runners of all levels achieve their individual goals through personalized online training. The company’s unique matching feature helps runners identify the perfect coach among their highly accomplished roster.

“As we continue to seek opportunities that can enhance our participants’ experience and hold their interest year-long, we are fortunate to partner with RunDoyen to make their highly impactful coaches available to our young racers,” said Jeff Long, founder, Healthy Kids Running Series.

“We, too, believe in inspiring kids to lead an active healthy lifestyle,” said Jordan Welling, founder, RunDoyen. “We hope the experience and expertise our coaches can offer will help Healthy Kids Running Series amplify their mission with helpful and engaging training content. Kids are the future and we’re excited to partner with Healthy Kids Running Series to help more kids get active and stay active through running.”

RunDoyen is supplying Healthy Kids Running Series with several training videos recorded by three of their highly-qualified coaches for each of the appropriate age groupings: TJ Garlatz (quarter-mile), Lindsay Flanagan (half-mile), and Addi Zerrenner (mile).

Garlatz has coached more than 100 All-Americans, eight national champions, and holds a PR of 2:28 in the marathon.

Zerrenner is an Olympic Marathon trials qualifier, an NCAA Cross Country Championship qualifier, and NSCA Certified Personal Trainer.

Flanagan owns a PR of 2:29:27 in marathon racing, and competed on Team USA in the World Marathon Championship, and is a Pan-American Marathon Silver Medalist.

Healthy Kids Running Series will also offer inspiring educational opportunities that help keep kids focus on staying healthy year-round, including online health, nutrition, and fitness programming for young boys and girls in the I Am A Healthy Kid program guide.
