ToSH2020 Welcomes Frankie Andreu
Woodstock, GA (Jan, 2020) The Tour of Southern Highlands (ToSH), welcomes Frankie Andreu as the 2020 Race Announcer. Andreu is a ’96 Olympian, and 13-time Grand Tour rider, including 9 Tours de France.
The Tour of Southern Highlands, is the best early season stage race on the East coast, and the only Junior National Team Selection race east of the Rocky Mountains.
“We are really excited about Frankie joining our 2020 crew. After years of watching him race, then listening to his professional commentary, I can’t wait to hear him at the ToSH,” stated Tom Driscoll, ToSH Technical Director.
“I love the early season races when everyone is ready to test their legs. The Tour of the Southern Highlands with their stage race format of TT, criterium, and road races provides a great launch pad for the 2020 cycling season. The events are exciting, the courses challenging, and I look forward to race announcing the up and coming juniors as well as the established pros trying to start their season with victories,” said Andreu, who has been involved in directing professional race teams and announcing events, since retiring from professional cycling.
Racing begins Friday, Feb 28, 2020, with a championship length, individual time trial for Pro/Elite men, women and elite juniors. (An open, non-stage race, community category is available for all athletes interested in testing themselves against the clock). Elite & Pro racing continues in downtown Woodstock with a Friday night twilight criterium. On Saturday, Amateurs and Masters join the stage race with a fast, rolling circuit race, in downtown Ballgrond. All racing concludes Sunday, with a challenging road race through the Highlands, surrounding Ballground.
