Four Destinations Worth Building a Trip Around: XTERRA’s 2026 World Tour Season Closers
August 7, 2026

The living history of Suzhou and Yuyang Mountain. The Tahitian island of Moorea. Los Cabos at the tip of Baja California. Pokhara beneath Nepal’s Annapurna Range.
August 7, 2026 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The final 12 stops before the World Championship lead into XTERRA’s 30th anniversary gathering in Ruidoso, New Mexico. After that milestone, four destinations remain on the 2026 World Tour. This is where explorers, adventure seekers, and families give more room on their itineraries to experience four places that many people spend years hoping to see.
Suzhou from Oct 29-Nov 1 opens the gates to a side of the city rarely seen in international endurance sport. The XTERRA World Cup finale brings Short Track to Pan Men Square before attention moves to the Yuyang Bay Outdoor Sports Center, where a custom-built trail network rises through Yuyang Mountain above Lake Taihu. Suzhou is a short high-speed rail trip from Shanghai, but its ancient canals, classical gardens, and historic gates hold centuries of living history. The event provides an entry point into a city and lakeside region worth taking the time to uncover.
XTERRA Tahiti follows on Nov 7-8 on Moorea, the volcanic sister island of Tahiti. A boat drop into Opunohu Bay begins the course before it heads inland toward pineapple fields, tropical forest, and the Ancestors’ Trail. One weekend is just the start from Moorea to the wider Islands of Tahiti.
At the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, XTERRA Cabo from Nov 21-22 moves from sunrise over the Sea of Cortez into the desert trails surrounding Los Cabos. When the race calendar is all said and done, Cabo is the place to kick back.
For the ultimate closer, Nepal’s Annapurna Range caps it off on Nov 28, during one of the best periods for visiting the region when clear post-monsoon skies can expose the full scale of the Himalayas. The course passes through jungle tracks, and local villages on the edge of Pokhara, one of the world’s great gateways into the high mountains. For those who wish to keep exploring Nepal, the paths into Annapurna country begin from here.
