Everything Set for The Citroën Ë-Tour by Bkool, The First Virtual Cycling Stage Race

Two brands with a long cycling tradition, Citro n and Kas, are joining forces to organize an original virtual stage race in the BKOOL cycling app, with competitions accessible to anyone who loves cycling and has a bicycle and a trainer, or a smart bike.

  • Starting March 7, the Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL will take place in four stages of between 14 and 25 km each, set on the virtual streets and highways of Spain and Portugal.
  • There will be prizes for every participant who finishes at least one stage, as well as exclusive rewards for the top finishers in each stage and the General Classification, such as a real jersey, a trainer, the chance to meet and chat with the professional riders of the AG2R Citroën Team, or an exclusive experience in Switzerland with the AG2R Citroën Team courtesy of BMC, one of the sponsors of the event.

In March, the cycling season rides into top gear in Europe, with the staging of the first prestigious races on the international calendar, such as Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico and Milan-San Remo. As a tribute to the stars of this sport, two companies closely related to the world of cycling, Citroën and Kas, are launching the first virtual stage competition, the Citroën ë-Tour, on the BKOOL platform. A competition available to anyone with a bike and a smart trainer, or a smart bike, which will provide an opportunity to measure up against the big names in gaming, such as Tresco, Spursito and KiwiCity, AG2R Citroën cyclists such as Felix Gall and Larry Warbasse, and sports journalists like Siro López and Rubén Martín.

The setting of the first stage of the Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL will be near Zaragoza, a virtual route 22.7 km long and an elevation gain of 479.9 m. On March 14, the race jumps to Portugal with the route from Vila Real to Vila Pouca de Aguiar, 22.8 km long and 277.9 m climbed. Back in Spain, on March 21 the route will follow the Galician coastline, starting in Playa de Samil, continuing along the seashore in the city of Vigo and ending in Chapela, for a total of 14.5 km and 105 m climbed. On March 28, the ë-Tour will end, as is traditional in the Vuelta a España, in Madrid, with a stage of 14.8 km and 268.8 m climbed.

In the Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL, every participant climbs the podium. For participating and finishing each stage, you get a digital jersey. If you finish in the top 10, this jersey features an exclusive design. There is also a drawing for a physical Citroën AG2R Team jersey and a trainer. The top three in the GC will receive a real jersey, a Zycle roller and the chance to meet and chat with the cyclists of the AG2R Citroën Team. The Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL is also launching the Group Rides, sessions that will be broadcast live on Twitch and Instagram LIVE to get ready for the stages, featuring the cyclists of the AG2R Citroën Team and your favorite streamers and sports journalists.
