Destination Sport Experiences Announce Partnership with the Tour de Manc

April 13, 2022

Destination Sport Experiences will be working with the event organisers to assist them with developing the event, opening up its reach to more cyclists and adding new experiences in the future.

/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Cycle tour operator Destination Sport Experiences are excited to be joining forces with the Tour de Manc, using their years of experience and expertise to help develop and grow this already much-loved and successful annual event.

The Tour de Manc is the premier cyclosportive in the North of England, created and developed in 2016 and now a well established annual event in the Greater Manchester community. It is a charitable sportive run by volunteers, using cycling as a force for good in Greater Manchester to raise significant funds for registered charities in the area.

The Tour de Manc takes place on 1 May 2022 and there are still entries available. The Full or Classic Manc is 100 miles and tours 9 boroughs of Greater Manchester in an anti-clockwise direction. The Half Manc is 100km (62 miles) and shares some of the best views of Manchester. The Quarter Manc was introduced as a new challenge for 2021. At 50km (31 miles) long, it is aimed at new cyclists who want an achievable ride, whilst still tackling a couple of tough hills and offering one of the best views of the Pennines. However, the toughest challenge is reserved for the Mad Manc, earning its fearsome reputation from 200km of riding and 10,000 feet of climbing, a route worthy of inclusion in the Tour de France.

Brendan Fox, Managing Director of Destination Sport Experiences, said, “We’re really looking forward to working with Danny, Tony and the team, to assist them with the plans for the Tour de Manc in future years.  The event is supported wonderfully by the Greater Manchester community and participants are cheered on by local people as they pass through various towns and villages within the area. For anyone coming from afar, they will experience the best of Northern hospitality.”

Danny Franks, Co-Founder of Tour de Manc, said, “We’re delighted to be partnering with Destination Sport Experiences, who will be able to use their industry knowledge to help expand and develop our event and attract more participants than ever before. We’re also very excited to be working together on adding some new elements to the event in the future.”
