Cowtown Ribbon Cutting and Community Open House

September 23, 2023

(Fort Worth, Texas) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Cowtown moved its offices to 3584 S. Hills Avenue, Suite 21, Fort Worth, Texas, 76109, in the Westcliff Shopping Center. To celebrate, there is a scheduled Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 4:00 PM. The Fort Chamber of Commerce and its ambassadors will be on site to officially open The Cowtown Marathon events facility. Media is invited for photos and interviews.

A Community Open House will be hosted on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Neighbors and community leaders are invited to take part in tours, activities, and refreshments. The Cowtown retail store will be open and there will be an update on regularly scheduled social runs, camps, training classes, and exercise groups that will meet at the new location throughout the year. Photo opportunities at the new mural wall that faces Alton Road will also be part of the festivities.

The move was a result of The Cowtown’s growth, the need for adequate parking and the opportunity to provide additional community programming.

“We could not be more excited about our new location, where we can operate from a larger facility in a neighborhood where we can grow community outreach and better serve runners and families with quality programming and race activities,” said Heidi Swartz, The Cowtown Executive Director.

The 46th annual Cowtown is scheduled for February 24-25, 2024. The Cowtown’s next event before the February race is the C.A.L.F. Run, offering a 1-mile, 5K, and 10K at Coyote Drive-Inn Theater on October 21, 2023, starting at 7:30 a.m.

About the Cowtown: The Cowtown Marathon, the largest multi-event road race in North Texas, has a $10.4 million annual economic impact in Fort Worth, Texas, and hosts one of the largest youth races in the nation. Recently named to The BibRave 100: A Definitive List of the Best Races in America, Cowtown, listed as one of the Top 20 Half Marathons in the country, was also listed among the races with Best Medals and Swag. In 2020 the Cowtown was voted America’s Rave Race nationally by runners. Proceeds from The Cowtown go directly to The C.A.L.F. Program. The Cowtown is designated a Gold Certified Event by the Council for Responsible Sport. The 46th annual Cowtown is scheduled for February 24-25, 2024.

The Cowtown C.A.L.F. (Children’s Activities for Life and Fitness) Program: As part of The Cowtown mission to promote a lifelong love of fitness, The C.A.L.F. Program was created in 2009. C.A.L.F programming benefits approximately 150 schools across North Texas annually. The program trains students in proper running technique and educates them about resting heart rate, the importance of hydration, proper nutrition and living an active lifestyle. Through our school grant program, we identify low-income children and fit them properly with a new pair of running shoes, socks, and provide them grants to make entry fees to The Cowtown February races more affordable. We have made running a 5K race a reality for over 50,000 children in the last 14 years.
