CoolEvents Previews World’s First Augmented Reality Finisher Medal

October 3, 2019

PHOENIX (Oct. 3, 2019) – CoolEvents, the nation’s largest experiential event company, has released a promotional video to celebrate the upcoming launch of the world’s first Augmented Reality Finisher Medals in 2020.  The 22-second teaser video is available on CoolEvents’ YouTube channel and provides an example of the Augmented Reality (“AR”) technology that begins when event participants scan their physical medal with the forthcoming CoolEvents mobile phone app.

“We’re really excited about incorporating AR into our events,” said CoolEvents CEO Bill Spata. “I believe this great new technology will soon become a regular part of the endurance space nationwide.  In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Augmented Reality Finisher Medals become the new standard in the endurance space, further expanding the appeal of our great industry.”

All participants who complete CoolEvents’ nationwide lineup of fun runs, mud runs, and obstacle course races in 2020 – namely, the Bubble Run, Blacklight Run, Foam Glow, Muddy Dash, or Terrain Race – will receive each event’s unique Augmented Reality Finisher Medal.

A number of 2020 events are now available for registration across CoolEvents’ various brands in cities including Honolulu, Dallas-Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Portland, Oshkosh, San Diego, New York, and Salt Lake City.  CoolEvents expects to produce a greater number of events in 2020 than in 2019.  Additional 2020 dates are being added weekly.

The 22 second video provides a glimpse of what participants can expect from the new technology and it can be viewed here.
