Boston’s Only Triathlon set for August 1-2, 2020, Registration Now Open

BOSTON – January 23, 2020 – ethos, the mass participation event organization that produces the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon, announced today the 12th annual event  will be held August 1-2, 2020. Registration is now open for Boston’s only Triathlon at www.BostonTri.com

The Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon is expected to bring more than 2,000 participants to the Boston waterfront for two days of races for adults, relay teams, kids and local Boston companies. Participants can once again race for free by raising funds for the event’s charitable partner, Boston Medical Center.

The weekend-long event brings together athletes of all ages and abilities to compete in Olympic and sprint distance triathlons and the Boston Corporate Cup competition.  Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon will be on Saturday August 1, 2020 while Olympic and sprint distance competitions take place on Sunday, August 2, 2020.  All events take place at the DCR’s Carson Beach, a stunning venue in the South Boston waterfront.  Additional information is available at BostonTri.com.

Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a leading global asset management group, is the title sponsor of the Boston Triathlon. Columbia Threadneedle Investments recently renewed its title partnership, which began in 2015 and now continues through 2023.

“We are excited for 2020 event, which marks our 12th year in the great city of Boston. We are grateful for all of the support that we receive from the state, the city and especially the neighborhood of Southie. Because of these supporters and our title partner, we are able to deliver a world-class event right in the heart of the City of Boston,” said Michael O’Neil, president of the Boston Triathlon.

Once again, ethos and Columbia Threadneedle Investments are working closely with the event’s charity partner, Boston Medical Center, the largest safety-net hospital and busiest provider of trauma and emergency services in New England.

Charitable money raised will help Boston Medical Center—a national model for excellence in caring for the urban and working poor—work towards its long-term goal of making Boston the healthiest city by 2030. This goal, known as Vision 2030, encompasses the longstanding belief that when an organization invests in the root causes of urban health issues, the community and its people greatly benefit and thrive. Money raised at the 2020 Boston Triathlon will support Vision 2030, with a continued emphasis on programs that help members of our community who struggle with substance use disorders. To learn more about participating in the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon as part of Team BMC, contact [email protected].
