Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon Sell Out for 15th Consecutive Year
November 26, 2019
Race entries still available in the marathon and half marathon through the Official Run for a Reason Program
Houston (Nov. 26, 2019) – The Houston Marathon Committee announced today that the 48th annual Chevron Houston Marathon and the 19th annual Aramco Houston Half Marathon have now sold out for the 15th consecutive year. On Sunday, January 19, 2020, more than 300,000 participants, volunteers and spectators will come together for the largest single-day sporting event in Houston.
“The participant experience has always been our priority in Houston and there’s a growing demand from runners all over the world to come and participant in the excitement of our event,” stated Wade Morehead, Executive Director of the Houston Marathon Committee and Foundation. “Runners chase an intangible feeling when they sign up for a marathon event. At the end of the day, that feeling is what matters most and our runners have expressed that is what keeps them returning to Houston year after year.”
The Houston Marathon Weekend of Events includes the Houston Marathon Health and Fitness EXPO presented by Texas Children’s Hospital and Houston Methodist January 17-18, which will attract over 61,000 visitors and 120 vendors to the George R. Brown Convention Center. Additionally, the We Are Houston 5K presented by Aramco and Chevron will feature 6,000 runners on Saturday morning January 18.
After crossing the finish line at the Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon and the We Are Houston 5K, runners are encouraged to celebrate their accomplishments at RunFest presented by Michelob Ultra at Discovery Green both Saturday and Sunday, January 18 and 19. This festive atmosphere hosts a variety of Houston area vendors providing fun, interactive events and entertainment as runners reunite with their friends and family.
Runners who were not able to beat the quick sell out and sign up through general registration, can still participate in either race by registering through the Official Run for a Reason Charity Program. Registrants can choose to fundraise for one of our 64 charity partners on a first-come, first-served basis while entries last. More details about how to register can be found at RunforaReasonHouston.com
In addition to the charity entries, registration spots are still available for the We Are Houston 5K. Runners can register at chevronhoustonmarathon.com.
