Battle Of Waterloo Triathlon Announces Partnership with Survival of The Shawangunks Triathlon to Award Entries for Sold-Out Race

Grass Lake, MI (July 5, 2023) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Ann Arbor-based race company, Epic Races, today announced that the winners of this year’s Battle of Waterloo (BOW) 10-stage triathlon will be awarded coveted entries into the Survival of the Shawangunks (SOS) 8-stage triathlon which sells out in minutes each year.

Annually held in the Shawangunk Mountains of New Paltz, New York, SOS is an 8-stage triathlon that attracts elite triathletes from around the world. The first official running of the event was in 1983 when Don Davis, founder of the New York Triathlete Association decided to make it an official event after running it as a training event with his friends for many years.

Featured in Triathlete Magazine as a bucket list triathlon, Battle of Waterloo is a 10-stage triathlon totaling 42 miles that traverse the sprawling Waterloo Recreation Area, one of the most rugged and beautiful parks in the Midwest. For the first time since 2011, the top 3 finishers of the Battle of Waterloo Triathlon, both male and female, will receive slots into the SOS Triathlon, granting them an opportunity to challenge themselves on the iconic Shawangunk Mountains course.
