Seven-time long distance champion, Ben Hoffman, signs up for Roth
The DATEV CHALLENGEROTH pro field gets another prominent new signing: Ben Hoffman will race in Roth on 7 July. The 35-year-old American has won seven times over the long distance between 2010 and 2019. His greatest success was in 2014 when he finished second in Hawaii. After a stress fracture last autumn, he impressively returned to the sport with a victory in South Africa in April, a placing he is definitely keen to repeat at Roth.
In addition to Hoffman, six of Hawaii’s top 10 men will be on the start line: Bart Aernouts (2nd), David McNamee (3rd), Braden Currie (5th), Matt Russell (6th), Andy Potts (8th) and Cameron Wurf (9th). They are joined by a number of world-class athletes from Germany and around the world for what promises to be an exciting race, which will be broadcast live on German television for the first time.
