Alchemy Bikes’ New Lycos Gravel Bike Now in Stock, Ready to Ship

August 24, 2023

Highly touted, more affordable Lycos option shipping within two to three weeks in all sizes, standard builds

Golden, Colorado (August 24, 2023) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Following its recent dramatic reduction in the entry price for the Lycos family of full-carbon gravel bikes, Alchemy Bikes now has full size runs in all standard builds and colorways in house and ready to build to order and ship within two to three weeks in most cases. The Lycos is Alchemy’s dedicated gravel adventure bike: tough and compliant for the rigors of off-road exploring but light enough for racing.

The Lycos is assembled entirely at the Golden, Colorado headquarters and can be ordered online with any of the five standard builds, all of which include carbon wheels and are available now. Framesets are also available with frame, fork and headset and can ship immediately. Consumers can also call Alchemy directly to customize their purchase with parts of their choice like drivetrain, suspension fork, dropper post, etc. This may result in a longer delivery time, depending on options.

Frames are available in Small through XXL in two colorways and two graphics options. All builds are 1x electronic drivetrains, with the base SRAM’s Rival XPLR model selling for $4999. The top-end builds feature SRAM Red or XO1 ($7499). And regardless of build, the Lycos remains impressively light weight, with the mid-level SRAM Force XPLR build, in size Large, coming in at 18.5 pounds.

“We’re excited to have these super-popular bikes back in stock in good numbers,” says Founder Ryan Cannizzaro. “They sold quickly after our launch around Sea Otter and we found ourselves out of stock, despite the industry’s current glut of bikes right now. But we’re building them up as quickly as we can to catch up on the many orders we’ve taken since, which is a great ‘problem’ to have. The popularity is not surprising, especially with the recent drop in price, because the Lycos is an incredible machine for all sorts of dirt adventure riding at a very competitive price.”

“And for those who simply want the best of the best of everything,” adds Cannizzaro, “our ultralight, top-end Lycos Au model – entirely handcrafted in our Golden [Colorado] headquarters and fully customizable – is also currently available with shipping times in the 4- to 5-month range.”
