Strava Goes All-In on Strength Training in Major Update

May 21, 2026

Strava is giving strength training a much larger role on its platform, rolling out new tools for workout logging, muscle maps, partner integrations and social sharing.

The update includes 14 integrations across the strength, fitness and wearable ecosystem, a dedicated workout log, auto-populated muscle maps and five new strength-specific shareable formats. The features are designed to make lifting easier to log, understand and share alongside the runs, rides and other activities users already track on Strava.

Strava said strength is one of its fastest-growing sport types, with more than 500 million strength uploads in 2025 alone.

The company, which is eyeing an IPO amid the social fitness boom, said the growth of strength training is being driven in part by interest in overall health, longevity and injury prevention, as more athletes incorporate resistance training into broader fitness routines. Athletech news
