Lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon is back, but at what cost?
August 22, 2025
Lululemon’s signature SeaWheeze Half Marathon will return to Vancouver in August 2026, its first edition since 2019. But if you’re hoping to race, be prepared: it won’t come cheap. Registration for the Aug. 8 race opens in January 2026 with an entry fee of C$325. That price makes SeaWheeze the second most expensive half-marathon in North America, behind only the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (C$355, which includes park admission, a shirt and a medal).
The jump in cost is substantial. In 2019, registration for SeaWheeze was C$178, which is a little over half of what it will cost in 2026. While it is easy to cite rising expenses and operational costs, the near-doubling of the entry fee has raised some eyebrows, including from Canadian marathon record holder Natasha Wodak, who made an Instagram poll asking her followers if they would sign up for a $325 race. Spoiler: 90 per cent of respondents said “no.”
To keep things accessible with high demand, SeaWheeze says they will use a lottery entry system, so first-timers and seasoned runners have a chance to be on the start line.
