POC Becomes Official Helmet Sponsor of USA Cycling Olympic Development Academy and Let’s Ride Camps

May 19, 2021

POC will provide helmets to all Let’s Ride Camp participants at USA Cycling National Championship events.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – POC USA, LLC has signed a two-year agreement as the Official Helmet Sponsor of the USA Cycling Olympic Development Academy (ODA) and USA Cycling’s National Championship Let’s Ride Camps. USA Cycling plans to continue championing rider development and safety with their new programs debuting this year; the Olympic Development Academy and Let’s Ride Camps.

“We’re excited to have POC on board as the helmet supplier for our rider development and safety programs,” said Bouker Pool, Chief Commercial Officer. “As we champion safety and participation, it is great to bring POC on as a partner to protect our ODA athletes while racing around the world, and start children’s experiences in cycling at the Let’s Ride Camps.”

All members of the Olympic Development Academy competing in mountain bike, road, or cyclocross will receive a POC helmet for their race season. In addition, any rider who attends a Let’s Ride Camp at a National Championship will receive a POC helmet. POC has also extended their partnership benefits to USA Cycling members and registered clubs with a 20% discount online at pocsports.com.

“As a Swedish company with a clear mission we want to protect athletes and those who aspire to be one. The dedication and commitment it takes to get to the Olympics is unquestionable and being able to help any US rider pursue their passion and achieve their lifelong goal is humbling,” Ben Coats, POC Managing Director, North America. “It’s a journey that is inspiring, and we hope it will inspire many more riders in the future.”

In addition to their product support of the Olympic Development Academy, POC has also agreed to a generous donation to the ODA Scholarship fund that will directly impact a young rider looking to make the next step in their development.

POC’s Whole helmet concept™

Advances in science and research consistently reveal the brain’s awe-inspiring complexity and role in shaping who we are. It is central to our wellbeing, it makes us unique, it drives us, but it is also delicate, fragile and needs protecting. It hurts when you break a bone, but in most cases, it will heal. Damage the brain and the outcome is altogether less certain. That is why we created our unique whole helmet concept™ to development and testing, where each feature, component, shape and material is designed specifically to work together. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts and our whole helmet concept™ with innovative materials, integrated electronics and rider optimized details is designed to work long before, during and after an impact is felt so we can enhance safety and protect any user.
