This Sunday, March 24, a sold out field of 2200 riders competes the fifth edition of GFNY Colombia

NEW YORK CITY, March 21, 2019 – GFNY Colombia is set to showcase some of the best Latin American riders as they take on a route that has become iconic with its mountain top finish at La Cuchilla. And for the first time, the race will also host the GFNY Latin America Championship.

The 138km course with 2439 meters of climbing starts in Guatavita just outside of the capital Bogota. It includes the 3365m-high La Cuchilla, a challenge not for the faint hearted and is where climbers are separated from the rest of the pack as riders chase for the celebrated finish. The 98km non-competitive middle-distance route follows the same course with the exception of La Cuchilla.

“It has been very exciting to see the growth of GFNY in Colombia,” said Lidia Fluhme, President and co-founder of GFNY. “When we started this race five years ago, we saw the incredible passion Colombians have for cycling. Now that Colombians conquer the pro peloton, more and more foreigners want to experience what cycling is like where these elite racers come from. There is no better way to find out than participating at GFNY Colombia in the midst of locals.”
