100% Partners with Sagan Fondo San Diego

November 6, 2019

Peter Sagan’s “Gran Roadie-Oh!” includes a charity gala, expo and a ride of up to 150 km this weekend.

SAN DIEGO, California – November 6, 2019 – 100%, the San Diego-based sports performance company, has announced a new partnership with Sagan Fondo, a groundbreaking new cycling series started by seven-time Tour de France green jersey winner Peter Sagan. The third Sagan Fondo takes place this weekend in San Diego, beginning with a gala on Friday night to benefit Challenged Athletes Foundation and Outride.

“I’m thrilled to bring the Sagan Fondo to Southern California and to ride with one of the most passionate cycling communities in the world,” Sagan said. “I’m especially excited for the opportunity to raise money for two charities that are making the world a better place by encouraging cycling and physical activity.”

The first two editions of the Sagan Fondo—both in Northern California—raised more than $150,000 to serve at-risk youth and the local community. Sagan will be joined by cycling legend Erik Zabel at Friday night’s gala, which will be hosted by basketball hall-of-famer and avid cyclist Bill Walton.

As part of the new partnership, 100% will be onsite at the Sagan Fondo Expo, located at North City in San Marcos, Calif. 100% will be demoing and selling its performance and active lifestyle eyewear—the same eyewear Sagan wears as he sprints to victory all over the world.

“At 100%, we’re inspired by athletes who give it everything they have, and there’s no better example of that than Peter,” says 100% CEO Ludo Boinnard. “Peter inspires people from all over the world to ride bikes, and this weekend offers a unique opportunity to ride with him while raising money for two great causes. We’re honored to be a part of it.”

The Expo is open to the public and will take place from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. A VIP dinner with Sagan will take place at Urge Gastropub in San Marcos. Click here for more information.

The Sagan Fondo: The Gran Roadie-Oh! will take place on Sunday morning, November 10, at 7 am, with three different distances for riders to choose from (50 km, 100 km or 150 km). The unique and challenging route will take riders through the hills and valleys of North County San Diego, starting and finishing in San Marcos. Sagan is opting for the longest route (of course) and there’s limited space available to join him on this memorable ride. Click here to learn more or to register.

The event is the first of a three-year partnership with Monuments of Cycling, a premier California-based events company best known for the legendary Canyon Belgian Waffle Ride.
