Fleet Feet Sports - Chicago and UA Bring Connected Fitness To Memorial Day Weekend Event

UA Brings Connected Fitness Technology to Popular Event

(Chicago, IL—February 18, 2016)   Fleet Feet Sports Chicago’s Soldier Field 10 Mile Race, the Midwest’s largest race of its distance, today announced Under Armour as the event’s presenting sponsor. The partnership includes a slate of exciting new activations linked to the Memorial Day Weekend race that capitalizes on both brands’ shared goal of providing runners everything they need to be better athletes through footwear, apparel, training and technology.

Under Armour’s sponsorship of the Soldier Field 10 kicks off prior to the May 28, 2016 race day with a monthly series of informational speaker events at Fleet Feet Sports – Chicago locations beginning in March. These events embody UA’s brand vision of changing the way athletes live and train. Topics will range from nutrition and rest to targeted race training.  Expert-led sessions will showcase Under Armour’s growing suite of Connected Fitness capabilities including demonstrations of the MapMyRun app and the groundbreaking UA SpeedForm® Gemini 2 Record Equipped running shoe.

The race starts in the shadows of Chicago’s iconic Soldier Field, a stadium designed in 1919 to commemorate American Soldiers who lost their lives defending our country, and ends on the 50-yard line inside the stadium where uniformed military personnel will bestow finishers’ medals on each participant.

Under Armour will have a strong visible presence on race day at Soldier Field with interactive photo opportunities, prizes and demonstrations of the SpeedForm Gemini 2 Record Equipped. Its world-class participant shirt will be customized for the 2016 Soldier Field 10 and additional race premiums will be available for purchase at any Chicago Fleet Feet Sports. Additionally, the race will offer multi-site packet pick up with locations in Chicago, Naperville and Oak Park increasing the overall convenience of the event.
